Who we are and what we do
We are a Community Choir made up of ladies and gents under the leadership of Antonio de Jesus, our choirmaster (who provides music and instruction), and meet weekly to practice a growing repertoire of songs, and all are welcome. We sing in English, but there are Dutch, Portuguese and others who will happily translate the tricky bits. Ability to read music isn’t essential, nor is a high level of singing expertise, but the ability to follow a tune would help! So far, we only sing for our own enjoyment, but we have sung for some Christmas events and are open to putting on small shows for old folks’ homes, etc. in the future.
Where we meet
We meet in Guia on Wednesday evenings at 18.30hrs at the Guia Community Hall, opposite the Market building, with plenty of parking available. It’s a fun relaxed evening open to anyone who would like to join, and new faces and voices will always be welcomed.
Interested?
Just turn up to listen only or join in: lyrics will be provided. Its’s a great way to meet new people too. A small monthly fee is payable if you decide to stay, or choose weekly if you can’t make it every week.
